Atlanta Weight LossWhen not considering weight loss, there are few things that are more refreshing to me than eating fresh piping hot corn on the cob, with plenty of butter and salt. It is such a refreshing and healthy tasting treat. What could be wrong with that you might ask?
Well, In America the average adult consumes 67% of their total caloric intake from only 3 foods - corn, soy and wheat. The consumption of these 3 foods should only be about 5 to 10% of our total diet.
Obesity is on the rise and with it significant health issues. The imbalance of the American diet is largely to blame. More specifically, these three foods are hindering your ability to lose weight.
Along with weight loss issues people are also developing allergies and intolerances to two of the culprits, wheat and soy, plus gluten intolerances.
· Massive amounts of the following food products are hard on your digestive system:
· High fructose corn syrup.
· Soybean oil
· Soybean oil (hydrogenated or plain refined)
· Soy protein
· Corn oil
Possibly hundreds more including soy lecithin, wheat or cornstarch, mono or diglycerides and many more.
Foods that contain high levels of high fructose corn syrup include but are not limited to breads, salad dressings, ketchup, sodas, marinades and hundreds of others.
Here is another shocking fact; farmers feed their beef cattle a diet high in soy or corn knowing full well their bodies were not designed for it. They do this to add fat, which translates to weight, which earns the farmer more money when they sell them for processing.
Omega 6 to omega 3 ratios are altered and become unhealthy when farm animals are fed a steady diet of soy and corn. If that were not enough they will also experience a drop in CLA, fats that come naturally to grass fed cattle. This is also a fact for farm-raised fish, salmon and chickens.
When you eat beef, chicken and fish you are still consuming foods that contain negative attributes for your health because of all the corn, soy fat buildup.
Do you want to get a handle on your health and experience healthy weight loss? Start with the foods you are putting in the cart at the grocery store! When you want to lose weight, you must change the way you eat and the best thing you can do is eliminate processed foods! Eat more vegetables, fruits, eggs, free-range meat, nuts and seeds.
If you want to lose weight the formula is simple, purchase healthy foods and leave the processed foods alone. Instead of eating junk food every day add meat from free roaming animals, seeds, nuts, beans, fruits and vetgetables. Save the unhealthy stuff for a cheat day!
· Use your cheat day as a day to eat out that way the junk food is not in the house all the time tempting you.
· This is best on 1 day dinning out so that it isn't in your home to tempt you.
· Try to get most of your carbs from fruits and veggies instead of grains.
· Canola oils are unhealthy as well.
· A good alternative to corn chips would be a veggie stick and guacamole.
· Reduce your cereal, bread, and pasta intake by having them on your cheat day.
My point is, you're not going to always be perfect with your diet, but you have to get the percentages of corn, soy, wheat and their myriad of derivatives back in line with good health standards. Your long term health and weight loss depend on it.
